RED Coalition Praises Sen. Husted for Supporting American Critical Mineral Dominance
America First Energy Coalition will air “Strong for America” on TV and digital platforms across Ohio in April
The Restoring Energy Dominance Coalition (RED Coalition), a conservative nonprofit organization that supports President Trump’s America First energy agenda, today announced the launch of a new digital and television ad campaign praising U.S. Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) for his bold leadership in advancing President Trump’s America First critical minerals agenda.
The 30-second spot, titled “Strong for America,” will air on television and digital platforms across Ohio beginning Thursday.
The campaign focuses on Senator Husted's work to reduce America's dangerous dependence on foreign adversaries for the critical minerals that power America's energy technologies, defense systems, and economy.
“[Senator Jon Husted] is bringing critical mineral production back to American soil, creating good-paying jobs, and cutting off China’s control over our future,” the ad reads, which will run as additional legislation on critical mineral production awaits action in the Senate.
The ad comes as the Senate prepares to consider a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution, H.J. Res 140, to lift a Biden-era ban on mining in one of the most critical mineral-rich areas in the nation. Reversing the ban, which the Trump Administration supports, allows projects in the region to pursue federal and state permits and unleash American production, while preserving environmental review processes.

BACKGROUND:
The Restoring Energy Dominance (RED) Coalition is a conservative nonprofit organization that was formed in January to support President Trump’s mission to restore energy dominance in America. The RED Coalition is led by former U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt.
Since being sworn into the U.S. Senate in January 2026, Senator Husted has been an aggressive champion for domestic critical mineral production.
In March 2026, he led the Critical Minerals Investment Tax Modernization Act, which is designed to boost U.S. critical mineral production by reducing the tax burden on rare earth production. Earlier this year, Husted introduced the Spent Petroleum Catalyst Recycling and Critical Mineral and Metals Recovery Act, which cuts unnecessary and overly-burdensome red tape around critical mineral recovery without compromising environmental standards.
In January 2026, Husted secured $900 million for the Centrus Energy American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio — a major win for domestic uranium enrichment and energy independence.
A Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to reverse a Biden-era mining ban on one of the richest critical mineral resources in the nation awaits action in the Senate. The White House has thrown its support behind H.J. Resolution 140 noting the importance of unleashing “America’s affordable and reliable energy and natural resources” in restoring prosperity for “those men and women who have been forgotten by our economy in recent years.”
The new ad campaign underscores that Senator Husted's work is directly in line with President Trump's America First energy agenda.
President Trump signed an Executive Order in March 2025 directing immediate measures to increase American mineral production, recognizing that transportation, infrastructure, and national defense all depend on a secure, affordable domestic minerals supply chain.
